A bit fishy !!
An investigation by Eyewitness News has discovered that several fish restaurants around New Smyrna Beach are selling fish with fancy names, and charging high prices for what is very often frozen imported cod.
State officials have declared that this is a statewide problem – fish sold as White Snapper or Silver Snapper don’t actually exist. Figures show that 70% of all fish consumed in the U.S. is imported and over 15% is farm raised in the U.S. leaving less than a 15% chance of consuming fresh Atlantic or gulf fish.
